Virginia has worked as a reporter for the ABC, overseas magazines and Australian newspapers. She specialises in rural issues and telling the stories of our food and fibre producers. In 2015 she was named the PF Adams Young Journalist of the Year at the Regional NSW Media Awards. In 2016 she became a NSW Young Regional Artist Scholar for writing.

Virginia grew up on a mixed cropping and cattle property in north west NSW. She studied a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland before securing a job as a reporter with ABC Rural radio based in Mount Isa.

Virginia returned home to Narrabri in 2014 to take on a sub-editing role with The Courier Newspaper. She is now building a career in freelance, which has already seen work published in national magazines, international publications and award winning newspapers. 

She currently writes for R.M.Williams Outback Magazine, Graziher and Mamamia. She has written for The Newcastle Herald, Downtown Magazine, Border Living Magazine and New England Home and Lifestyle. Virginia occasionally writes marketing copy and also does publicity consultancy for farming operations and property agencies.
